Event Explanation: Bridging the Gap Between People with Disabilities and the Labor Market

January 1, 2025

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

In the past six years, my research has shown that progress in the social domain has been stagnating for more than three decades. This is despite significant investments and numerous policy initiatives aimed at promoting development and inclusivity. The causes of this stagnation lie in deeply rooted structural challenges, including:

Lack of collaboration: Organizations often operate in isolation, which limits opportunities for collective impact.

Self-interest in subsidy competition: The search for subsidies often leads to competition instead of collaboration, diverting attention from the actual goals of innovation and support.

Fragmentation: Efforts to address social issues are scattered, leading to inefficiencies and hindering meaningful progress.

Subsidies intended to encourage collaboration and innovation ironically contribute to this fragmentation and competitive behavior.

This event, "Bridging the Gap Between People with Disabilities and the Labor Market," aims to address these challenges by promoting dialogue, collaboration, and practical solutions. Our goal is to unite stakeholders in developing a more inclusive and effective approach to connect people with disabilities to sustainable employment opportunities..
